Desperately, helplessly, longingly I cried,
Quietly, patiently, lovingly He replied.
I pled and I wept for a clue to my fate,
And the Master said gently, “Child, you must wait”
Lord, I need answers, I need to know why?
Is Your hand shortened, or have You not heard?
By faith I have asked and I’m claiming Your Word.
My future and all to which I can relate
Hangs in the balance and You tell me “wait?”
I’m needing a “yes”, a go ahead sign
Or even a “no” to which I can resign.
And Lord, You’ve promised that if we believe,
We need but to ask and we shall receive.
And Lord, I’ve been asking, and this is my cry,
“I’m weary of asking, I need a reply.”
And quietly, softly I learned of my fate,
As my Master replied once again “you must wait.”
So I slumped in my chair defeated, and thought and
Grumbled to God, and said, “So I’m waiting for what?”
He seemed then to kneel, and His eyes met with mine,
And He tenderly said “I could give you a sign.”
“I could shake the heavens and darken the sun,
I could raise the dead and cause mountains to run.
All you seek I could give, and pleased you would be.
You would have all you want, but you wouldn’t know Me.
It's so hard to trust, wait, and just remember that God's timing is perfect timing. I seem to loose focus of this to often... I thank God that he makes me wait... even though it can be painful and seemingly never ending, the end result is well worth it all!

I love this poem, Lese :) I'm thankful that He teaches me more of who He is through the trials and times of just trusting and waiting....
I was almost positive Ashley would comment on this one. But yes, Lese I do love this poem so very much and it reminds me that God doesn't want us to know why but He wants us to wait, and I knew personally that I need to be much better at waiting for His perfect timing because His timing is always perfect!
That is so powerful, and exactly what I needed to read right this very second! I've really enjoyed reading through your blog, you are a special young lady Ms. Searcy! I remember we were friends as little kids, whatever happened to that?!? How are you? =)
