Merry CHRISTmas!!!

It's about the cross
It's about my sin
It's about how Jesus came to be born once
So that we could be born again

It's about God's love
Nailed to a tree

It's about every drop of blood that flowed
from Him when it should have been me

It's about the stone
That was rolled away
So that you and I could have real life someday

It's about the cross!

I love this song so much! With all the hustle and bustle of CHRISTmas I can so easily loose focus and forget why I actually celebrate CHRIST'S birth. The incarnation of CHRIST being born was amazing, but it's why HE came to earth that saves me.

I Thank JESUS for coming to earth, to be born a man, to die for my sin's, so that we could be with HIM forever! I Thank HIM for all the blessings HE has sent my way this year. I thank HIM for you, and the impact you have made on my life. But most of all I thank HIM for being KING of ALL!

May you all have a Very Merry CHRISTmas!

She Is Gone...

You're in a better place, I've heard a thousand times
And at least a thousand times I've rejoiced for you
But the reason why I'm broken, the reason why I cry
Is how long must I wait to be with you

Help me Lord cause I don't understand your ways
The reason why I wonder if I'll ever know
But, even if you showed me, the hurt would be the same
Cause I'm still here so far away from home

I close my eyes and I see your face
If home's where my heart is then I'm out of place

Lord, won't you give me strength to make it through somehow

I've never been more homesick than now

Three years ago today I was standing next to my mothers hospital bed singing and saying goodbye. My heart feels so heavy sometimes with a deep kind of loss. I lost my best friend. My one true 'confidante'. Someone who wasn't only my best friend, but someone who poured her life into mine every day, even when I rejected or didn't appreciate it... She was my mom. As I write this there are tears rolling down my cheeks. Some tears of sorrow, but so many more tears of joy. I know she is in a wonderful place. A place she would never want to leave. And I am happy because of this...

When the world looses a loved one, it is such a great loss! The world knows not where their loved one is now, nor do they know or understand why this has happened. But when we, God's children lose someone close to us, there is only VICTORY! Jesus has WON! He has CONQUERED death! Jesus has made something so horrible, and devastating into something so glorious, and beautiful! There is no question in my mind why God took my mom. I know God's sovereign plan for my life is perfectly formed... "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28 I may not know God's reasons for taking my mom, but I do know that His plan for my life is perfect, and for this reason I can rejoice in His decision in taking her home. I can give Him thanks for giving me this path to walk. For it is the path He gave to me to bring glory and honer to Him. "Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious that of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ." 1 Peter 1:6-7 All I want is that everyone I come into contact with, will see Christ's glory through this "tragedy". I don't want them to see pain, suffering, and devastation. I want them to see joy and victory through Jesus.

No matter what trial we face. No matter what persecutions we go through. There will always be victory through Jesus, and God WILL be glorified through it! Praise God that He can work ALL things together for good! Praise God that He loves us! And Praise God that He will NEVER let us go!!!

What Is a Friend?

Someone who will laugh with you, someone who will cry with you. Someone who'd drop everything they were doing in any given moment just to pray with you. Someone you could call in the middle of the night with no hesitation. Through hard time's they are there, holding you up. A friend will rejoice when you rejoice, and weep when you weep. They will fight right next to you in battle, making sure you do not have the heavier load. When wounded they wont leave your side until you are back on your feet. A friend would give their life for you with out even thinking about it. They will not let a small or even big thing ruin the relationship, and will always try to mend a broken one. They are honest, and trust worthy.

A friend is not someone earned, but they are a gift form God. Not one of us can ever be a perfect friend. We will fail the people in our lives over, and over again. But its what we do when we fail, that will make or brake our relationship. I thank God for my relationships here on earth. But I thank Him even more for the friend I have in Jesus!

"What a friend we have in Jesus. All our griefs and sins to bear. What a privilege to carry, everything to God in prayer!"

Man's Best Friend

Some people wonder how could dog be man's best friend.
They're not demanding, understanding,
Loving through and through.
They're always sharing, giving, caring;
Devoted unto you.
Their tails wag, they never nag;
They're faithful to the end.
And this is why men will find
A dog is man's best friend.

I can't help this saying (dog is man's best friend) come to mind when working with my German Shepherd. A well raised dog is loyal to the death, & completely loves his/her owner despite how the owner may treat the dog. It amazes me that God not only saved us from an eternal life in hell, but gave us such an amazing creature to love and care for. A man can have such an amazing bond with their dog and it can't be explained. Their loyalty, unconditional love, companionship, and faithfulness in doing their job is what makes them a dog, but it is also what makes them "man's best friend". I thank God for this amazing animal that he has given me!

Wait

Desperately, helplessly, longingly I cried,
Quietly, patiently, lovingly He replied.
I pled and I wept for a clue to my fate,
And the Master said gently, “Child, you must wait”

Lord, I need answers, I need to know why?
Is Your hand shortened, or have You not heard?
By faith I have asked and I’m claiming Your Word.
My future and all to which I can relate
Hangs in the balance and You tell me “wait?”
I’m needing a “yes”, a go ahead sign
Or even a “no” to which I can resign.

And Lord, You’ve promised that if we believe,
We need but to ask and we shall receive.
And Lord, I’ve been asking, and this is my cry,
“I’m weary of asking, I need a reply.”

And quietly, softly I learned of my fate,
As my Master replied once again “you must wait.”
So I slumped in my chair defeated, and thought and
Grumbled to God, and said, “So I’m waiting for what?”

He seemed then to kneel, and His eyes met with mine,
And He tenderly said “I could give you a sign.”
“I could shake the heavens and darken the sun,
I could raise the dead and cause mountains to run.
All you seek I could give, and pleased you would be.
You would have all you want, but you wouldn’t know Me.

It's so hard to trust, wait, and just remember that God's timing is perfect timing. I seem to loose focus of this to often... I thank God that he makes me wait... even though it can be painful and seemingly never ending, the end result is well worth it all!

Beautiful Gifts...

A dear friend gave this poem to me, and I thought I would share it with you all. It touched so close to home for me it made me cry inside. I hope it blesses you like it did me.

I stood a mendicant of God before His royal throne,
and begged Him for one priceless gift which I could call my own.
I took the gift from out His hand but as I would depart,
I cried "but LORD this is a thorn and it has pierced my heat!
... This is a strange and hurtful gift which thou hast given me."
He said "my child, I give good gifts and gave my best to thee."
I took it home and though at first the cruel thorn hurt sore.
As long years passed I learned at last to love it more and more.
I learned He never gives a thorn without this added grace.
He takes the thorn to pin aside the veil which hides His face.

We so often look at circumstances in our lives as hurtful, and painful trials. We gripe and grumble about these misfortunes we have been given, and are not thankful for what God is doing in our lives. These "thorns" that we are given are so priceless! They draw us closer to our dear Savior, and make us more like Jesus. Unless of course we are ungrateful for them, and buck what God is doing in our life. I pray that God will make me more thankful for EVERYTHING in my life!

For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

Tea vs Coffee

http://healthybodynyc.com/wp-content/uploads/image/green_tea.jpg http://www.boncherry.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/date-frappuccino.jpg

There seems to be very much controversy over this, especially when you are a coffee lover trying to defend your beloved drink. In all reality I think if you were to compare the two drinks coffee would lose when it came to variety and health benefits. But coffee and tea are nothing alike and therefore should not be compared. Tis not fair…

When it comes to health benefits, tea has coffee beat, especially white and green tea. Tea has more antioxidants per cup than coffee does, and also contains less caffeine. A cup of black tea has half the amount of caffeine than a cup of coffee, and a lot more antioxidants such as flavonoids, catechins, and tannins. Coffee does not have as much as these properties present, but does have its share of minerals. Oolong, green, and white tea have even less caffeine and even more antioxidants. In fact, white tea has shown to contain the highest levels, and is one of the best sources when measured by volume for antioxidants. So if drinking for your health, tea will always beat coffee.

But coffee does have its advantages over tea in some areas. Take the simple fact that if you can tolerate caffeine, coffee is a great stimulant, and is helpful in waking people up in the morning, or any other time in the day that you may need a pick-me-up.

When it comes to tea vs coffee as far as varieties, tea has this one as well. There are literally thousands of varieties and sub varieties of tea that are processed by many different cultures worldwide.

So unfortunately I don’t think us coffee drinkers have much arguing ground when we are trying to defend it when being compared to tea. But I do think we will always beat the taste contest! ;-)

Priceless Simplicity:

The simple everyday gifts from God that we seem to overlook, but are worth more then we could ever know.

I pray that this blog is an encouragement to you as we walk together through this wonderful life God has blessed us with!
